Synopsis

This is the story of Tashi Johnson, a tribal African woman who has undergone genital mutilation in an act of loyalty to her customs. Severely traumatised by her experience she spends the rest of her life battling madness while at the same time beginning to understand the reasons invented for what was done to her. But as her understanding grows, so does her anger, and this anger causes her to act with a rage that has followed her across oceans and over years.
